Babar Nawaz accuses opposition leader for rigging  2024 polls

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Babar Nawaz Khan on Wednesday demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take action against the rigging in his constituency National Assembly (NA) 18 Haripur during the 2024 General Elections.
Addressing a news conference here, Babar Nawaz Khan, a former member National Assembly accused his political rival the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Umar Ayub Khan of rigging the polls.
He demanded the Election Commission to take action on his petition filed against the alleged rigging in NA-18.
He said that Umar Ayub was guilty of financial corruption and misrepresentation in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.
He further said most of the votes in his constituency comprised of population residing in hilly areas, which takes three to four hours to reach the polling stations.
“PTI members themselves believe that fake votes casted votes in the elections. I had filed a petition in the Election Commission against this rigging, but Umar Ayub, who considers himself the champion of fair and transparent elections, started opposing him to dismiss his petition,” he said.
Babar Nawaz Khan demanded that an impartial and transparent inquiry should be conducted into this whole matter.
“My challenge is to Umar Ayub that instead of opposing my petition in the Election Commission, he should face it”, he said.
He has also condemned the desecration of the Pakistani flag in Frankfurt, Germany.
